Record number of grant submissions received in round 5

Back to news

The call for proposals for Round 5 of the Bloomberg Philanthropies funded Road Safety Grants Programme was launched through the GRSP website and digital avenues in early February, with a deadline for submissions of 21 March. In all, 75 grant proposals were received from 9 countries, representing a 41 per cent increase over the previous high of 46 submissions received in Round 3.

Programme Manager, Raoul Powlowski said of the increase, ‘While the review process of this round of submissions is still underway, such a marked increase is indicative partly of the success being delivered through the programme’s current grantees, and moreover, of the growing profile road safety work is beginning to enjoy within the NGO sector in these countries’.

A formal review meeting of the submissions will be held mid-May with applicants notified of the outcomes by 23 May.
