Indonesia Road Safety Children Colloquium, 11-13 November

The Indonesia Road Safety Children Colloquium was held in Jakarta from 11 – 13 November, organized by GRSP Indonesia. Supported by the ministries of transport, public work, health, education, the Indonesian Traffic Police together with a number of private sector organizations, the event involved a number of training initiatives designed to:

educate children from all over Indonesia about road safety;
teach children how to behave safely on the road, make safe decisions and help others;
provide road safety knowledge and skills pertaining to pedestrian, bicyclist, passenger and pillion rider safety; and,
enable participants to be road safety ambassadors in their own province (school and neighborhood).

Children, parents and teachers from 27 provinces attended the collaborative training programme over the three days provided by the supporting stakeholders to develop a ‘Culture of Road Safety’ within communiites across the country.
