An estimated 30 million people have been killed in road crashes since the invention of the motor vehicle over a century ago. The World Health Organization (WHO) forecasts road crashes will be the third most important cause of death and disability worldwide, by 2020. With more than 1.2 million people killed in road crashes every year, actions are needed.

This knowledge base provides you with good practice and lesson learnt from around the world. The first parts describe the global problem and the different sectors involved in solving it.
